Our House | Location


The mountain guesthouse, Kolmenhof, is now being run by the third generation, is well known for its warm-hearted atmosphere, the extraordinary selection of culinary specialties and especially by the excellent situation high in the Black Forest.


At 1,100 metres above sea level, in the centre of the nature reserve in the centre of the Black Forest, a unique ambience surrounds you at Kolmenhof - the beauty and secrets of nature await you.

The historical Martinskapelle (St. Martins Chapel), built in the 13 hundreds and the watershed of the Danube and the Rhein are both found in the immediate vicinity.


Just 7 km away, the city of Furtwangen is best known for being the home of Germany's largest clock museum. In addition, it is also the home of the celebrated SKIF Ski School (Skiinternat Furtwangen) - known for ski jumpers Martin Schmidt and Sven Hannawald.

Besides visiting the spring of the Danube you may find many nice sights in the surrounding area such as the "Günter Felsen" (Gunter´s Rocks), Germany's biggest water falls and much more.

Located directly at the "Westweg" (western hiking route from Pforzheim to Basel), in summer time you may do wonderful hiking trails trough the top of the mountains or in winter time you can explore the winter landscape following Nordic Skiing traisl around the mountain "Rohrhardsberg"
